My media survey had some interesting results. After looking at the ten people's answers that I surveyed, it turned out that the older generation reads more newspapers than people under the age of approximately. I feel that this is because younger kids are quite self centered and aren't very worried about other people's problems unless it affects them. Also, with all the long articles and talk about politics, I think that that would turn a lot of younger people off the newspaper.  I predict that the older generation read the newspaper more also because of the interest and time. They have the maturity to care about other stories and also for some of the plus 50 year olds, TV wasn't around when they were young so they have learnt to read instead of just watching the TV for news coverage ect.
Not many people I surveyed bought newspapers just for the free coupons ect. I feel this is because there isn't much chance of winning, and not many people want to waste that extra 2 dollars on a lost chance. I feel the same about this.
Even though most people I surveyed didn't actually read much of the newspaper, many said that they would miss it. Most like watching their parents on Sunday mornings just sitting and reading the newspaper.

My feelings towards newspapers are that they should stay around. They are such an easy and cheap way to get proper in depth news bulletins without having to read it in all one go. Unlike the TV you can just read a little bit of it, and then come back to it at a later date. When I read the newspaper, the articles are actually very good and worth a read so I feel that more people should read the newspapers, and that they wont die out for a little while yet. But eventually
