Movie Trailer -
The sound convention of voice over is used effectively through out this 'Dance Flick' movie trailer in that it creates the serious, but comical feel to the plot by using the deep and professional male voice. From a practical point of view, the voiceover helps to help the audience to understand what is going to happen in the trailer and film. The voice over also states the captions and titles that come up on the screen to highlight what they are saying and also at the end of the trailer, it cuts into a character's dialogue to create a humorous end. The voice over's voice is a deep male voice to make the start of the trailer seem professional and serious, but this is a huge contrast to what is portrayed on the screen. This also adds humour into the trailer because what it sounds like is not at all what the movie is like, so this foreshadows this movie to be in the 'spoof' genre.

The camera angles used in the trailer are essential to create a certain effect of the 'dance' and 'spoof' genres. There are many wide angle shots to show the dancing at the start of the trailer to trick the audience into thinking it is a serious film. Then, a close up of a baby dancing on the ground is a signal that the movie is not what it seems and is in the 'spoof' genre. There are many mid shots to introduce the characters and two shots to show the relationship that will feature in it. The wide shots of many people are used also to show the strong bonding of the dance group and that they are all equally good dancers that need to be features. Some interesting camera angles like birds eye view are used to illustrate the interesting dance moves and the comical take they have mocking the real dance movies.

The lighting in the film trailer creates a divide between Megan's 'thug' and clubbing life to her private school and pristine home life. The club scenes have low key lighting with harsh stage lighting and disco lights, and the school and home scenes have warm natural lighting. The warm yellow lighting has happy connotations and a wholesome feel, but the bright flickering lights in the club and dancing scenes almost veil her good day time and creates a bad contrast with night. The strobe kind of lights used in the club or whilst dancing also makes the movie look serious but this convention also creates humour because it is the opposite in the film.

Finally, the editing is interesting because of the quick cuts in contrast with the slow
