I believe my group achieved a lot of work in class today. At the start of the lesson we didn't have a clear vision of how the infomercial was going to pan out. Now, after writing a page long overview of the commercial, it makes it easier to complete a proper story board and script. Our group is mid way through a good story board that is a general outline of the shots. The story board is not yet shot by shot, this is just an overview of the shots and camera angles, but the different shots and camera movement is explained in the other columns such as audio and camera. I found it hard to do the story board as a group, we utilized Zoe's talent in art but some ideas were very hard to come up with and it is clear that there is leadership and friendships in our group of three. Although, our preproduction plan did get along very nicely, and we did manage to identify faults in our plan and the different technicalities and costs that were involved. Some points that were raised were put into our SWOT analysis like the idea of emailing Federation to check that it was ok to use their branding. That was carried through in class and we are still waiting for a reply.
After all this planning, our concept is simple. It is kinda similar to an anti-advertisement but not so obvious. Nowadays, marketing hooks are very obvious to the target audience of teenagers and they wont follow the trend to buy the product. They are more likely to just turn off the ad. But for our infomercial, there will be no obvious offers and deals like in other ads. It will be quite alternate. Here is a video that is my inspiration:

The 'creator' of Federation will also feature in the the commercial to promote the product. This wont be in a in your face way, but just talking casually to the camera about the product almost like it is an interview. The effect of this is to make him seem like an everyday guy and really nice and welcoming so people will feel comfortable to buy off him. Also that it subtly tells you the features of the phone and why it was made ect without being to obvious with your marketing plan. At the start of the commercial, there will be close up shots of the phone and the brand. Then a hand will grab the phone and skate off with it whilst txting. The effect of this is that it shows the type of person that buys the brand Federation. Then, the ad proceeds to show what the phone can do by being passed from person to person. This will be fast paced and show all the features of the phone. Like listening to music, txting, calling and taking pictures. After this, the creator of Federation will talk and then testimonials will be played.
Our in class work so far has been successful, we have achieved everything that we wanted and have utilized all of our skills. I feel that I am the decision maker, ideas person and leader, Zoe is very good at getting work done and drawing and Rob is enthusiastic and is quite easy going with changed in ideas. There can be tension sometimes in our group because our relationships aren't yet fully developed, but I know by the end of the assignment we will all be tight friends. So far, I can see our infomercial is going to be very successful as our group becomes tighter and we have a potential excellence in our mists. :)
